JEWELLERY SHOP
The project for Imagine jewellery shop was specifically designed for the Shopping Centre of Portimão.
Since this was the brand’s first shop in the context of a Shopping Centre, it would have to clearly represent its values and act as an insignia of the brand as well. For the occupation of this space we looked at the use of light, colour and material. The displays inside the store work as a background to the plinths near both glass walls suited to highlight pieces of the current jewellery collection. The brown colour, specially created for Imagine, was applied throughout the walls, ceiling and furniture to create an oversized chocolate bombom filled with jewellery.
Floor
From the moment we enter a room or any clearly defined space, the perception of the environment is automatically established, even unconsciently, through our hearing, our touch and smell. Using a floor solution without joints and with an homogenous and contrasting colour we are able to direct clients attention to the pieces on display.
Lighting
Although the store’s position benefits from an unusual exposure to natural light, its premium location is facing the Shopping Centre’s 5 storey high glazed wall, showcasing jewelry requires a considerable effort in lighting effect. Concealing and positioning of spotlights, quantity, eliminating shadows, balancing colour temperature require close detail. The ilumination was created at three levels: 1. Overall indirect light 2. Light of the plinths; 3. Decorative light suspended from the ceiling. The lighting design establishes it’s mood. The tone of the shop and the intended degree of sophistication should be established, and felt through the application of different lights. However, the feature is in the light and the jewellery, not the light fittings.
